The Tricuspid Valve Should No Longer Be Forgotten: Edge-to-Edge Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Repair Improves Quality of Life and Major Organ System Function

      Among subjects aged older than 75 years, the prevalence of clinically relevant tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is quite similar to the one of aortic stenosis or mitral regurgitation.

      No longer the “forgotten valve”? Tricuspid regurgitation management and outcomes: narrowing the knowledge gap one step at a time.
      Surgery is mostly performed at the time of mitral valve surgery. Isolated tricuspid valve surgery (ITVS) is rarely performed alone, considering the in-hospital mortality rate at approximately 10%. Therefore, there is a clear unmet clinical need, especially for patients with a high surgical risk. Advances in cardiac imaging and the development of new transcatheter therapies have renewed interest in the treatment of the so-called forgotten valve.
